چکیده
Melon (Cucumis melo) is one of the most important cultivated cucurbits. In this project, genetic variability among 14 accessions melon collected by authors has been studied using 23 anatomical characteristics across 2 consecutive years as well 146 random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. Combined analysis variance revealed significant effects on genotype and year ? effects. Among examined characters, highest CV% values two belonged to fruit store at room temperature (88.96%, 103.6%) total weight (42.2%, 40.00%), while lowest were observed in flower petal width (0.31%, 0.21%), length (0.28%, 0.49%), peduncle (0.40%, 0.19%). Classification based Ward method produced three groups. The Jaccard?s similarity coefficient (0.76) was between ?Atashi koluche? miyaneh? value (0.49) found ?Bakermellon? ?Mashhadi? with mean 0.59. study, OPA06 OPB13 primers possessed greater efficiency evaluation germplasm. Analysis population structure, which imply existence admixture germplasm, revealing subpopulations. Accession ?Sabzevari? identified mixed subgroups. From breeder?s view, introduced heterotic groups can be utilized parental selection for construction mapping structure prevent any false positive output marker-trait association studies melon.

The genome of melon (Cucumis melo L.).
We report the genome sequence of melon, an important horticultural crop worldwide. We assembled 375 Mb of the double-haploid line DHL92, representing 83.3% of the estimated melon genome. We predicted 27,427 protein-coding genes, which we analyzed by reconstructing 22,218 phylogenetic trees, allowing mapping of the orthology and paralogy relationships of sequenced plant genomes. We observed the ...

Oriental melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa) is one of six subspecies of melon and is cultivated widely in East Asia, including China, Japan, and Korea. Although oriental melon is economically valuable in Asia and is genetically distinct from other subspecies, few reports of genome-scale research on oriental melon have been published. We generated 30.5 and 36.8 Gb of raw RNA sequence data from ...
متن کاملGenetic Diversity and Population Structure of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)
Knowing the extent and structure of genetic variation in germplasm collections is essential for the conservation and utilization of biodiversity in cultivated plants. Cucumber is the fourth most important vegetable crop worldwide and is a model system for other Cucurbitaceae, a family that also includes melon, watermelon, pumpkin and squash. Previous isozyme studies revealed a low genetic diver...
متن کاملGenetic diversity in Indian snapmelon (Cucumis melo var. momordica) accessions revealed by ISSR markers
Snapmelon (Cucumis melo var. momordica) is native to India and many of its accessions have been used as source for disease and insect pest resistance, worldwide. Inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers were used to evaluate intra-specific genetic diversity among twenty-two snapmelon accessions, variable for fruit cracking, peeling patterns, fruit shape, and flesh colour. Of the 32 ISSR mark...
متن کاملPhenolic Profile and Antioxidant Activity of Melon (Cucumis Melo L.) Seeds from Pakistan
Phenolic composition of different extracts of honeydew melon seeds and their antioxidant activity was determined for the first time. Phenolic compounds were identified using a reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) method. Results showed the identification of five phenolic compounds in water extract namely gallic acid and its derivative, hydroxyb...
